About.
Alexander Michael Voss is a dedicated lyric soprano who works diligently to mold their voice into an instrument that inspires, both through performance and through education. Through this pursuit, Alex hopes to introduce classical art song to new listeners, beyond the world of classical music and into the world of mainstream media. Alex wishes to bring a sense of community to audiences not only through music that is already published, but also through their own original music.
As a young singer, Alex worked as a cantor for St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hopewell, NJ. In 2019, Alex performed as a soloist in Bach’s Cantata No. 140 in Raritan Valley, New Jersey. Alex also performed during the Peabody Conservatory Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 concert season as a choir member in the Bernstein Mass, under the direction of Marin Alsop. On top of this, they have also been hired for private performances during the holiday season. Within their first year of Graduate studies, Alex was hired in
2022 to sing in Boston Conservatory's Graduate Choir, led by Dr. Stephen Spinelli, where Alex sang as an Alto 2 until their graduation in May of 2024.
Currently, Alex continues working in the Boston area as a private voice teacher and performer. Their debut album, Dear Marie, is set to release in September 1st, 2024 on all streaming platforms. With the lessons taught by their teachers, and their growing experience in the field of performance and teaching, Alex works to hone their growing voice and bring it to its fullest potential.
